We just celebrated Laval Families Magazine first anniversary on October 30, 2013. A year went by already, and in retrospect, we are very proud to have developed a sense of belonging in both the community of Laval and the North Shore region.

We strongly believe that the English-speaking communities of Laval and the North Shore region are very involved. Therefore, we, at Laval Families Magazine, are here to help inform, educate and support both communities with pertinent articles, local stories, innovative projects and contests to support the creation of alliances between our readers and their local service providers.

What an amazing year we had! We started our second publication, Laurentians & Lanaudière Families Magazine, for the same reason we did Laval Families; readers wanted and needed to get informed on so many aspects of community and family life. So we’d like to extend our deepest gratitude to the community of readers, supporters, collaborators, and sponsors/advertisers in Laval, Laurentians and Lanaudière, who have become part of our family in the past year.

Young Authors Contest 2013 - 2014
We received a record breaking quantity of contest registration from Laval, Laurentians and Lanaudière. Congratulations to the principals, teachers, parents and the students of the Sir Wilfrid Laurier School Board. A job well done! We’re looking forward to seeing all of you on February 23, 2014.
Last but not least, I’ll leave you with the inspiring words from Pastor Rudy from Laval Christian Assembly; “Remember, spirituality is learning how to balance the inner and the outer self. I believe that balance is found in seeking the Spirit of God in everything and in every way. It is not at all necessary to neglect our physical and material existence to succeed on the spiritual path.”

We at Laval Families Magazine, Claudia, Jorge, Manon, Andrade, Audrey, Andrew, Jennifer, Beverly, Frances, Stella, myself, and the 100 plus volunteers want to wish everyone happy holidays to you and your families. We wish all of you a wonderful 2014 filled with love, health, peace and joy. In this season of giving, I suggest that we all make a small difference by helping our community, family, friends and the less fortunate. As Aesop once said, “No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.” Be kind to yourself and one another because change always start with us.

Happy Holidays!
