The decision to enter politics is never a simple one, and that’s why it must be a family decision. We have to think about the fact that this decision will require sacrifices for everyone because unfortunately, there will be many family events that will have to be postponed or take place without us.

Birthdays, appointments for our children, school concerts, evenings out with our significant other, or other typical family activities that fill up our photo albums with memories. These events sometimes have to take a backseat when duty calls. This is why I tip my hat to my colleagues who have young children and must make this difficult choice.

Why choose politics? It’s because we firmly believe that we can make a difference in improving the lives of all Lavallers. But how? We strive to facilitate the accessibility of services that you have a right to, and we do it through a prosperous and responsible economic system. Health, education, culture and transportation are aspects of everyday life that affect all of us. Today, Laval has a unified vision shared by six MNA’s, and this is vital when it comes to making changes over this large territory. We are very fortunate and privileged to be united by our will to make changes. We see it as an opportunity to ensure that the needs and voices of all Lavallers are heard. What’s more, our caucus is made up of young men and women right alongside grandfathers and grandmothers in the public, community and private sectors.

This amalgam is a strength and an advantage when it comes to bringing ideas and action forward. We’re a great team. I know for a fact that the desire to serve burns bright for my colleagues and myself. I hope that the stories in the pages that follow help you to get to know your MNA’s on a deeper level.
