People worry so much about others’ opinions or thoughts. In fact, people are so caught up in what others think that they don't think about others! And yeah, maybe one person or two will comment on your choices but as long as they don't hurt anyone, you do you. An example of this is I love wearing "childish" clothes. But I find them cool and they are my style. Then one day in grade six one person commented about it. One. And it bothered me, so I stopped. I worried that everyone thought what that one person expressed as their opinion and I started wearing clothes that blend in. Neutral colors and such. But I love to stand out with sparkles on my shirt with cool characters on it! So, then I realized that I don't even care what others think and I should just express my style.

Still to this day, this person bothers me about what I wear but I don't really let it bother me. I even like it; it means what I wore that day stood out. They like black hoodies. That's fine. I like rainbow glitter shirts. That's fine too. I feel like people shouldn't take hours deciding what to wear but just go with what they like. Barely anybody notices anyway. Might as well wear what you like. And it's not just what you wear that people are so caught up in, it’s what you do. Some people really like art, but they're scared that no one will like it so they don't show it. They even put themselves down being meaner to themselves than anyone will ever be. You might like a club a lot, but you think none of your friends would want to join. Join it.

Whether your friends join or not you will be able to find new friends with similar interests. It goes the other way around. Don't worry your friend will hate you if you don't go to all the same activities as them. Basically, you think that people have bad opinions but in fact, you are just stopping yourself. Once you lift all that pressure on yourself you feel more confident and free. So go do you, without all the worrying.
