Évolution Laval, a virtual event that took place last June 7-9th, was intended to ignite entrepreneurial spirits towards the green movement initiated by the CCILaval. Over the course of these three days, participants were able to learn more about the ins and outs of sustainable economy in order to truly create a sustainable economic wave. It is in this spirit of renewal that business leaders and employees have been invited to consult and sign the Manifeste pour un engagement lavallois vers une économie durable, profitable et résiliente (Manifesto of commitment towards a sustainable, profitable and resilient economy in Laval).

“This tool is the first spark to be able to start reflecting within a company and bring about this movement, this change of a sustainable and profitable Laval,” says Caroline De Guire, President-Director General CCILaval. The signatories are therefore invited to develop and support initiatives conducive to the adoption of eco-responsible behaviors and tools by strengthening, among other things, links in the Laval business community in a sustainable manner. In addition, employers are committed to providing employees with a healthy and safe work environment by promoting the emergence of a greener and more resilient economy to ensure the development of a competitive advantage that will increase the creation of collective wealth.

To ensure optimal deployment, a host of simple actions are proposed, starting with a review of the mission, visions and values of companies so that they embrace the cause of sustainable development. “After the pandemic, we could take the opportunity to return to work in an eco-responsible manner, by making workspaces more dynamic, healthier places, which makes it possible to reduce costs and to rely on more efficient teams,” says Michel Rousseau, President of CCILaval. For Rousseau, this change in vision is important for helping the brand of Laval's employers to stand out.

Évolution Laval will have proven beyond all doubt that returns on investments are always positive when it comes to sustainable development. As such, the CCILaval wishes to be a partner of choice to see Laval flourish with a prosperous and fair economic life. In addition, the Fonds Écoleader enables businesses to raise $30,000 to $50,000 to promote clean technology or an eco-responsible practice.
