Located on the 2nd floor of the Multiculturelle library, Le Studio provides a playful way to discover technology. This medialab aims to encourage learning new skills by exploring technology and creating projects in a stimulating and entertaining environment.

It is free of charge and accessible to one and all with the Avantages Laval card. Everyone is welcome to carry out their project, regardless of their level of comfort with technology.

Thanks to the digital mediators on site, you can learn how to use a variety of technological equipment. Moreover, Le Studio's team will assist you every step of the way as you carry out your project.

Technological equipment
Since its opening in the fall of 2017, Le Studio has considerably changed what it offers. As technologies are constantly advancing, this medialab regularly updates its equipment to meet the needs of its users. Here are a few examples:

3D printer
Two 3D printers are available for you to print your creations in three dimensions. You can learn how to make your own models on the spot or simply print your own already modeled creations.

Vinyl stickers
With our vinyl cutter, you can create customized stickers in the colour of your own choosing. They can be decorative, funny or functional—the choice is yours!

 Robotics
Want to learn the basics of robot programming? Le Studio has several robotics kits for various age groups. You can borrow them on site and, at your own pace, discover how they work.

Espace Audio and Espace Image
Two independent spaces can be reserved at this medialab. In the Audio space, a real recording studio, musical instruments (guitar, bass, keyboard and drums) and microphones enable you to create audio-musical content. In the Image space, you can hold a photo shoot or a filming session thanks to cameras, projectors and a green screen.

Hours and reservations
In order to meet the growing demand, the medialab's hours have recently been extended. Le Studio is now open 7 days a week, 3 p.m. – 9 p.m. on weekdays, and 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. on weekends.

Want to make sure you have access to a particular piece of equipment when you go there? You can write to us at any time to reserve it at the following address: lestudio@laval.ca. We look forward to seeing you there!
