Is finding original activities to do for the whole family posing a challenge, summer after summer? Are you in need of some inspiration? The Festi’Week-ends have got you covered!

Once again, the City of Laval and ArtHist Network have partnered to present you with the 39th edition of this dynamic family-oriented festival that will run for six consecutive weekends from July 4th to August 10th, 2014.

Your little culture vultures are guaranteed to love the myriad of performances and workshops organized for them during the day, as there will be something for everyone! Are they the hands-on type? No worries, the festival enables them to get involved in interactive cultural, artistic, scientific, and sports workshops. This year’s focus is on music, singing and dancing. Kids will be able to show off their vocal talents, practice their circus moves, create lively tunes, dance along to some amazing rhythmic shows and participate in drama lessons!

Along with these energetic activities, each of the park’s maisonettes will be occupied by colorful characters that children will be able to meet and greet with as they discover the various scientific and cultural exhibitions of the Festi’Week-ends. Makeup artists will also be present to paint the kids’ smiling faces for the occasion.

The City of Laval strives to offer free interesting and fun family activities and the Festi’Week-ends are a great example of this effort. But remember, Festi’Week-ends are not just for kids. On Saturday nights, parents are invited to groove to the rhythm of festive dance parties!

Why not combine your visit to the festival with the multiple daily outdoor activities and events available at the park? Lay your picnic out on the grass, have fun on the lake by renting canoes or kayaks, learn more about animals at the farm, race to the top of the climbing wall, take your bikes for a ride or simply go for a stroll on the beautiful grounds.

Families will love spending a few hours of their weekend at the festival, especially as programming changes every day and the activities are completely free thanks to the City of Laval. Each weekend will be organized according to a different theme, and dozens of activities will be offered at the Village des arts of the Centre de la nature, so don’t miss out on all the fun and join us at the Festi’Week-ends 2014!
