Summer is finally here and we can exercise outdoors! Many have a wonderful image of summer as a carefree, happy time when "kids can be kids,” taking for granted the prospect of inspiring experiences such as summer camps, time with family, parks, and trips.

We tend to forget to keep exercising our brains as well. In order to do so, one should continue reading for at least 20 minutes a day in both languages, play with educational apps and recall flashcards for mathematical tables. If this gets challenging to do at home, we do offer reading and comprehension programs to do here at the Centre.

As for those who need to enhance or fill in the gaps in order to catch up and be ready for September, then you may want to inquire about our brain training programs. These programs are greatly appreciated in the summer time because the students are liberated from homework and parents may have lighter schedules, which make appointments more feasible.

Brain training is a powerful alternative to enhance a student’s core ability to learn easier, quicker, and better. The brain processes information through a complex network of nerve cells called neurons. As we absorb and learn information, groupings of neurons physically work together to accomplish these thinking tasks. Brain training helps to strengthen an individual’s cognitive skills, attention, processing rate, sequencing and memory, in addition to building language, reading and writing ability. Studies have proven that brain training stimulates the learning side of our brain and makes all the difference.

After finding this discovery, we have realized that brain training not only benefits children who are on an I.E.P. but others as well. This neural science alternative is a great solution for the majority of these students. We have provided help for a large number of students that do not necessarily have a diagnosis but seem to be challenged with learning. Our brain training programs are extended to these children and much more. They are designed with these discoveries in mind; A.P.D., Reading Difficulties, Dyslexia, Homework Frustration/Disappointing Grades, Autism or Asperger’s Syndrome, A.D.D., A.D.H.D., Language Difficulties or Delays, and Executive Function, Learning Disabilities. At our Centre, these clients have experienced one of our brain training programs which last three months. The following results indicate the before and after.
