The colours of the leaves are not the only transformation this Fall season. Laval Families Magazine is celebrating its 5th anniversary!
Just like students who seem to transform during the summer period, our magazine has had its own growth spurt over the summer! To commemorate this special time, we’ve undergone a complete makeover. The magazine you are holding in your hands has been redesigned from top to bottom. Our team worked hard behind the scenes to come up with a look that will offer our readers something fresh and new. We’ve been listening to our readers’ feedback over the years, and we think you’ll find LFM 2.0 to be layered with value. What better way to thank our readers for five successful years, than to offer you a completely redesigned and modern look to feast your eyes on?

When the magazine was launched back in the Fall of 2012, it came on the heels of three years of research. I wanted to offer the Laval community something that was valuable, educational, inspirational and informative, and I was able to fulfill that need through the creation of this magazine. It was, and still is, a family run and operated business. Our humble beginnings of 20 000 copies has now more than doubled, and with a local TV Show and French sister publication under our belt, our team—our family—just continues to grow to serve you, our readers. Without your loyal support, you wouldn’t be holding this copy in your hands today, so thank you from the bottom of my heart!

To help us celebrate this exciting time, our cover story will not disappoint! In case you haven’t heard, Place Bell is opening its doors in Laval. This exciting new amphitheatre in the city center will forever change the cultural landscape of Laval, bringing high-calibre music and theatre shows and our very own hockey team to the scene. Our city is in for a major boost. Laval Families Magazine had an exclusive one-on-one interview with Geoff Molson, owner, president and CEO of les Canadiens de Montréal, Centre Bell and Evenko, as well as Mayor of our city, Marc Demers.

Featured within our top story, you can read all about the Rocket de Laval team making their home at Place Bell. Our full coverage even takes you behind the scenes to learn more about the team behind Evenko, the official promotor behind Place Bell’s programming.

With back-to-school season on everyone’s radar, we want to remind you of an amazing opportunity for students to take advantage of. Our 6th Annual Young Authors Contest is now open for the 2017-18 season! Get all the details inside and spread the word to students in your entourage.

Wishing all citizens of Laval and happy and safe back to school period,

Luigi Morabito
