Every car manufacturer must constantly change with the times in order to adapt to the evolving needs of its clientele. Subaru is a brand synonymous with quality and innovation, not to mention, consistency. It was named the Best Mainstream Brand yet again in the 2018 ALG Canadian Residual Value Awards. This is the fourth consecutive year it received this honour.

Erik Durand is the General Manager at Subaru de Laval. “Our customers are extremely loyal to the brand,” Durand says. “While going through life’s changing events, they now require more room for their growing family, their outdoor activities and leisure. In the past, they had to sacrifice security, reliability and dependability and Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive for a roomier vehicle from the competition.”

The new 2019 Subaru Ascent solves that problem. Durand adds that everyone at Subaru de Laval as well as Subaru dealerships across the country has been eagerly waiting for this new model for quite some time.

Spacious and Comfortable
So why the hype? First off, the 2019 Subaru Ascent is the ultimate family vehicle. In fact, it’s the biggest Subaru ever built. It’s an even bigger version than its predecessor – the B9 Tribeca – and there is certainly no shortage of space. Its three rows can seat seven or eight passengers, depending on the seating configuration. The rear doors open at an angle of 75 degrees for easy access to the second and third rows. The bucket seats are not only sizable, but also comfortable.

This SUV also includes a few secrets and surprises ideal for the family on the go. In addition to being spacious for passengers, it has more than enough room for cargo, including a wide trunk opening and several hidden compartments. In addition, heated front seats are standard and three-zone automatic climate control ensures all passengers stay comfortable.

Reliable and Safe
More importantly, the 2019 Subaru Ascent also measures up in terms of its performance. The new model is both dependable and safe. It features all-road/all-weather capability, powertrain and handling prowess not usually found in the typical three-row SUV. It also has a continuously variable transmission, an all-wheel-drive system and a fully independent suspension system. “The Subaru Ascent can tow up to 5,000 pounds more than the average family needs,” Durand adds.

To keep passengers safe, it is also equipped with numerous standard safety features, including the award-winning Subaru EyeSight Driver Assist Technology. This innovative system created by Subaru engineers monitors traffic movement, optimizes cruise control, and warns you if you sway outside your lane. EyeSight reduces injury-related rear-end crashes by up to 85 per cent.

Standard and Additional Features
The standard features are sure to please the entire family. The little ones can use the grab handles to support themselves and imagine they are in the driver’s seat. They will also appreciate the whopping 19 cup and bottle holders.

There are also six USB charging ports available to keep portable electronic devices charged while on the go. The new model also boasts a comprehensive infotainment system and incorporates Subaru STARLINK smartphone integration.

For those who opt for a high-end model, the 2019 Subaru Ascent offers other treats such as rear sunshades, a front-view camera, rain-sensing wipers and ventilated seats, which is a first for Subaru. There is also a thigh extension on the driver’s seat for even more room and support.

Affordable Quality
The 2019 Subaru Ascent is a mix of comfort, convenience, safety and adventure, and is well suited to family life. Not to mention, it’s affordable. And despite its heavy-duty capabilities, it offers a smooth ride. Durand encourages potential clients to come and take it for a test drive to see for themselves. He himself describes the driving experience as “breathtaking”.

“At Subaru, we are committed to not only meeting but also exceeding our customers’ expectations,” Durand says. “The 2019 Subaru Ascent has taken the brand’s reputation a step further in terms of reliability and quality, so it’s no surprise the new model is already widely popular.”
