Organizing an event involving hundreds of guests – or even thousands – may come along with a massive dose of anxiety. No detail should be spared for the success of your occasion. The Embassy Plaza Centre in Laval is at your disposal, offering rooms that are spacious, chic and modern.

Angelo Amicone, Director of Operations at the Embassy Plaza Centre (a division of the PMG Group, the largest event space centre in Quebec), knows how to guide people in the process of planning and coordinating events of all kinds. “We really want everyone to come out with the impression that the event was successful because we built it together,” Amicone says.

Whether it's for a wedding, launch, business meeting, fundraiser, cocktail party or other event, they are there to satisfy your needs. The goal is to offer an unforgettable experience for guests while remaining flexible in terms of budget and customer needs.

Large and Small Events
The Embassy Plaza Centre has built its reputation by celebrating a wide variety of events. The establishment houses six reception rooms that can accommodate anywhere from 10 to 2,000 people with more than 25,000 square feet of luxurious space.

It offers organization services, catering, bar service, table service, cleaning or rental of equipment, if necessary, and also has very well-equipped kitchens. The staff works diligently to ensure their clientele can host an event that lives up to their expectations and beyond.

5 à 7 Events
New concepts are constantly being developed to attract a diverse clientele. First introduced in October of 2018, the 5 à 7 event service offers an open kitchen for guests. The Embassy Plaza Centre wants to attract people during the week, as well. Up to 300 people can attend. It can be to celebrate a birthday, a meeting between work colleagues, a corporate event, a culinary event or a reunion of former students.

“Weddings and major events take place on weekends, so during the week, any room can be rented. For 5 à 7 events, you can make the room smaller, you can put armchairs and high tables, prepare the kitchenwith things like as pizza ovens, deep fryers, cooking grids, shish-taouk machines or cooking plates for pancakes. We can do a lot of things for different ethnic groups or themes,” explains Amicone.

Catering Services
The company also offers catering services. However, the client may choose to invite an outside chef, depending on the theme of the event. The Embassy Plaza Centre then takes care of adapting the kitchen according to chef and can allow him to bring his own staff. Guests enjoy the concept of the open kitchen in the room where they can observe the chefs and their team at work and even receive lessons on their skills.

Knowing How to Distinguish Themselves
Many establishments offer 5 à 7 services, so what sets this company apart from the rest? “There are many aspects to it, because in bars, it is usually used for food like chicken wings. We can serve more elaborate food according to the theme of the evening,” Amicone explains. The food served reflects the customer's choice and the budget allocated to the event.

“We can have an open bar. In clubs or bars, it's rare to see that. We make different stations for aperitif, champagne, reception.” The room is arranged according to the wishes of the client, too, so everything is customized. “If he does not want to use the kitchen, we'll put a curtain to hide it. If he wants the guests to be upright, the chairs will be removed,” Aicone says.

For larger events, Amicone advises people to book early to reserve your spot. “If a room is available, we can organize an event in one week, it is possible. However, generally, people call us six to eight months [in advance] and sometimes even a year and a half in advance.”
