When I grow up, I would like to work in the field of video games. Even though I'm only in fourth grade, I have already started doing research on the various trades in this field.

I discovered there are jobs for video game testing. I like to spend about a month playing the same game, to find the problems and to be able to say, “You would have to change this or that so it works better!” This really interests me a lot.

I would also be very proud to see my name in the credits at the end. In my research, I found a technological background is recommended. There are currently no testers on the job market.

In addition to my interest, I have important personal qualities for this work. I have good observational skills, great attention to detail, patience, a tolerance for routine work, a passion for video and electronic games, and the ability to put myself in the shoes of a true player. Plus, I have excellent oral and written communication skills.

There are not really any studies related to this job. I will be able to start working in this area as soon as I have the right to work. By then, I'll have plenty of time to get more experience playing all kinds of games on my console or tablet. I will be able to study at the same time so that I can choose my profession and maybe become a designer, programmer, artistic director, scriptwriter, or even 3D animator.

There are so many possibilities that I do not know yet. Certainly, these are professions of the future. People will always love to play and technology will continue to evolve and surprise us. My name is Émile Ayotte and as you may have noticed, I am a video game buff.
