Born and raised in Montreal, 45-year-old Jarred Atkin calls himself Heaven’s Messenger. He says he knew as a toddler that he was chosen as a messenger from heaven and a vessel for its light.

Jarred Atkin always felt he was different because he says could see and understand things that other children could not. During his teenage years, his friends trusted him and approached him with various questions. Atkin complied gladly, and never accepted any payment.

Atkin describes himself as “a regular guy who is covered in tattoos, rides a motorcycle, smokes cigars, drinks whiskey, but is a big teddy bear who loves people, animals and nature.” When he was 35, he met a First Nations Shaman who told him his mission was large and powerful. This man helped Atkin understand the special, overwhelming gift that he believed he possessed. He says the Shaman guided and prepared him for what was to come. The First Nations teacher confided to Atkin that he had so much power that in one year, Atkin could complete more meaningful work than he had completed during his entire 35 years.

Atkin says he is a clairvoyant, medium, shaman, exorcist, haunted house specialist and energy worker. He utilizes his unique gifts to help those who suffer from pain and those who wish to connect with loved ones who have passed away. According to Atkin - who claims to work closely with both Archangels and Jesus daily - this allows his clients to have closure and peace.

Atkin says he has helped entertainers, radio personalities, the rich, the poor, children who suffer from ADHD or demons, people with illnesses, pets, the homeless and many others. He is known to help those in need, even if they cannot afford his services.

He considers himself one of the few exorcists in the world who battles demons and helps save those possessed to give them their regular lives back. Atkins, claims to have traveled throughout Canada and the United States to help people, while those in other countries, he helps by phone. Atkin started his full-time business in 2013 and works in an office near his home. To date, his clients have ranged from three to 81 years of age. He says that 90 per cent of his clients are women aged 35 to 55. Most of these women see Atkin to experience a clairvoyant session, although Atkin is best known for “his ability to fight demons.”

“Demons attack those who are weak or vulnerable, especially children, since they are so innocent. Evil pursues goodness, purity and innocence, children are easy targets,” Atkin claims.

He uses his hands to reach out and touch people on their head to heal and alleges, “light comes out through the palms of his hands.” He says he fights shadows with light. One session could range from five minutes to an hour. When he has finished a healing session, Atkin is exhausted and broken for days. Many evenings, Atkin is up all night trying to fight off evil and endures pain in his hands and feet and often sleeps only two to three hours each night.

Atkin has five children aged four to 13, whom he claims all have their own individualized gifts. His wife Maya is spiritual and very supportive. She is a stay-at-home mom who understands the sacrifices that Atkin must make to help others. Atkin feels the special gift he possesses was not handed down to his children, but rather, they just happen to have it. Atkin says his children will take over his mission when he gets too old.

Atkin claims his life’s work is not for the fainthearted. He claims that often people get turned off or do not believe in the type of services that he offers due to their upbringing, religious beliefs, or if they have had a negative experience with a “fake” clairvoyant. He thinks people need to keep an open mind.
