If your child would like to learn to play tennis, a junior tennis program is available which will cover the basics of the game in fun learning environment. There is even an intensive tennis day camp program available which has been running for more than 30 years.

Summer Camp for Sporty Kids
If your child has an abundance of energy, the Tennis 13 Summer Day Camp is just the ticket! Laval Families Magazine chatted with Camp Director Sarah Ricci, to find out more.

According to Ricci, the camp program puts an emphasis on physical activity, without the use of technology like smartphones or video games. Children can partake in a variety of activities such as tennis, dekhockey, badminton, basketball, dance, cheerleading and theatre. Children spend two to three hours a day playing their chosen sport, and the rest of the day is dedicated to other physical activities. “Our camp’s goal is to get children moving and to grow their passion for physical activities through a wide variety of games, sports and activities,” Ricci says.

What if your child isn’t exactly the sporty type? Not to worry. Ricci says the camp is a great opportunity for a child to try out different sports and find something they like. “Our camp monitors are trained in all the sports activities we offer,” she says. “There is always fun and games, of course, but once children have chosen a concentration, they are really going to learn and develop their skills in that sport.”

As physical training is part of Tennis 13’s values, starting this summer, youth aged 8 to 12 years old will have the chance to participate in physical training initiation workshops integrated into their respective camps. The workshops will teach children basic training techniques, safety and perseverance. Guided by qualified trainers, the children will learn weightlifting techniques and exercises to help them train safely in the future.

The day camp will kick off in the last week of June. The number of participants varies from week to week, but the day camp can offer services for up to 300 children per week. Groups are made up of four to 12 children, classed by age. Registration is available for children starting at four years old. Daycare services are available from 7 am to 9 am as well from 4 pm to 6 pm. A meal service is also available on site to make parents’ lives easier.

If you register your child for more than three weeks this summer, you could receive a 10 per cent discount on your registration. You could also take advantage of the pre-registration period discount of an additional 10 per cent off, if you register by May 17th.

If your child has energy to burn off, the Tennis 13 Summer Day Camp is the ideal solution to keeping children happy and active all summer long!
