For the first time in the school’s 113-year history, the Selwyn House School experience will be open to everyone. Starting in September 2021, students will no longer be required to have a Certificate of Eligibility for English Language Education to attend.

At Selwyn House School, your son will be known and loved. This is a promise made to parents when they enroll their sons at the school. Selwyn House offers a small-school advantage, with just over 550 students from Kindergarten to Grade 11. With between 15 to 20 students per class, caring, devoted and energetic teachers have the opportunity to establish meaningful relationships with all students. The school’s single-gender environment also allows students to grow at their own pace, develop empathy and confidence, and build lifelong friendships.

Your son will have the opportunity to thrive in an environment specifically designed to suit his learning style. By understanding the various ways boys learn, we will engage him and give him all the tools needed for his success. Our goal is that students acquire positive attitudes to scholarship and recreation, learn clarity of thinking and self-expression, and guide themselves with a high degree of personal integrity.

The school is dedicated to the French language and culture, with early French Immersion from Kindergarten to Grade 3, a bilingual program for Grades 4 to 6, and a Français Plus option in secondary school that provides a level of enrichment similar to that offered in Français Langue maternelle programs, in addition to an exceptional English-language curriculum. Our students embrace the heritage of Montreal and Quebec, while preparing to engage with Canada and the world throughout their lives.

Selwyn House students are respectful, resilient and hardworking young men who pursue fulfilled, balanced and purposeful lives anchored by Selwyn Veritas: True to Ourselves, True to Others, True to Our School and True to the World.

Through its rich history, Selwyn House School has undergone various transformations to its facilities, which have been renovated and modernized to include a state-of-the-art library and student success centre, computer labs and a full-size gymnasium. The modernization of our facilities includes an ongoing integration of technology into every classroom and into the hands of every student.

Getting to Selwyn House School from Laval is made easier by the addition of a dedicated school bus with stops in Ste-Dorothée and Carrefour Laval. Families also have the option of public transportation to school, which is a 10-minute walk from Atwater Metro Station.
