Published in early 2021 by Laval-resident Liboria Arcuri, Wings of Grace: A Heart That Speaks is a testimony of how the word of God can help you heal and teaches you how to live a life of Faith.

Born in Cattolica Ereclea, Sicily, in 1950, Arcuri is the youngest of five children. She moved to Canada in 1954. She married at 16 and has three children and seven grandchildren.

When her kids were growing up, she had many health problems and operations, and was often hospitalized. Additionally, her father died unexpectedly in a tragic accident. These events led her into a depression. Through her journey to find happiness, she says, she sought help from doctors who only prescribed her medication that didn’t work.

But it all turned around when a cry for help was captured by God. “A door of hope opened and my life began to change. The door was unlocked, He opened my eyes and the light of Christ came in,.” writes Arcuri in her book. These events led her to be closer to God. Her depression and tragic incidents led her to find the Wings of Grace.

Arcuri says she wrote the book to reach people’s hearts. “To know the love of Christ is basically what I want [people] to get from this book,” she says. “This book is a Faith walk and a personal walk, and God will really take you under his wings, under the Wings of Grace. It’s amazing when you have an encounter with God. It’s about your personal walk with God, because if you have Faith in God, and you trust him as your Father, God will open doors for you. God will help you.”

Her mission, she says, is serving God, and the goal of the book is to get her readers to trust Him with everything so you will be able to heal and be happy. “Faith in God allows you the freedom to get to know God,” she says. “If you’ve been embondaged to depression or sickness, God will bring that true freedom into your life.”

For example, Arcuri writes that in situations where you face opposition and hardships, you should tell yourself “I’m going to do this God’s way.” She says that you do this to not be burdened with situations that cause you pain and should “anchor your soul to Jesus and hold Him to high esteem.” She says that even through these hardships, you must keep the faith and by keeping the Faith, you will never get hurt.

“You must believe that what is trying you wipe you out is not from God. The evil one cannot touch you or your family when your heart and your mind is set on seeking God daily and His righteousness and to do what He tells you.  Take the shield of faith and develop a willing and obedient heart that pleases God,” writes Arcuri.

Besides being a published author, Arcuri and her husband, Domenico, run the Domenico and Liboria Arcuri Ministry, a lay ministry whose goal is to serve God and do as the Gospel commands.

“When you’re not a pastor or a priest, it’s the lay movement of the Church that transforms and changes people to do His Will to command, people that are being led by the spirit of God.”

Ever since September 11th, 2001, the Arcuris have been leading these healing ministry and prayer meetings from their home. For Arcuri, these prayer meetings are meant for people to get to know the God. “There’s so much God wants to do in our personal lives,” she says. “That’s where we want to draw people closer and closer to God.” Arcuri says to remember that God always tells us: Whatever you desire when you pray, believe that you’re going to receive it, and you will have it.
