Summer’s the time to shake things up and have a little fun in the sun. It’s also the time to mark your calendar for the season’s transit highlights.
In JuneIncorporate cycling into your daily trips: it’s good for you and the planet! If you need to cover greater distances, combine cycling and transit by taking your bike on the bus. To use the bike rack, simply pull the latch to lower the rack, place your bike on top and clamp the retaining arm against the top of the bike wheel. Then get on the bus to validate your fare. The racks can be used in the daytime and early evening, before it gets too dark for bus drivers to clearly see the bikes on the rack.In July
July 1st, 2022, marks a new phase in the public transit fare reform that is underway in the Greater Montreal area. Things to keep in mind:
- Laval is now in Zone B (formerly Zone 3).
- There are bus-only tickets available (that’s great news for Laval transit riders).
- You can use the new “All Modes” tickets to take the bus, the train or the metro as well.
If you’re a high school or full-time college or university student, be sure to renew your OPUS card with photo ID to continue enjoying discounted fares as you go back to school. Check this off your list as soon as possible to avoid the lineups:
- Go to stlaval.ca/student to see what you have to do depending on your age.
- Gather the required documents (ID, proof of enrollment).
- Go to inscriptweb.com/stlaval to book an appointment at the Cartier or Montmorency ticket office.
- Expect to pay a $15 fee.
In Laval, there’s no shortage of green spaces or things to do. Hop on the bus and explore them all with your family: up to five children can ride for free with an adult who has a valid fare. Don’t miss out!
