We are thrilled to announce the upcoming opening of the state-of-the-art Laval Aquatic Complex. This ambitious project demonstrates our city’s commitment to improving community well-being and developing regional athletics. Slated to open its doors in early 2025, the complex is poised to become a pillar of community and sporting life in Laval.

This project is the successful culmination of the unwavering perseverance and commitment of our city’s elected officials to provide Laval residents with the best possible infrastructure.

A modern space for everyone
Whether you are a high-level athlete or simply enjoy recreation through healthy physical activity, this facility has something for everyone. With room for up to 875 people, it will become an important gathering place for the community.

The facility features a recreational pool with beach entry, water games, a slide and three 25-metre swimming lanes. It also houses a 10-lane swimming pool measuring 52 x 25 metres, a diving pool with one- and three-metre springboards and a diving tower with platforms up to 10 metres high. But that’s not all! The facility also has a multifunctional training studio, a fitness room and a multipurpose hall with stands to accommodate up to 500 people. Additionally, the entire facility has been designed for universal accessibility, ensuring that mobility needs will not be a barrier and that everyone can make the most of the complex.

A springboard for aquatic sports
The Laval Aquatic Complex is set to become the ultimate destination for aquatic sports. Local athletes will no longer need to travel to access international-level facilities, as they will be able to train competitively right in their hometown.

EAU Laval, our key partner in aquatic sports, will manage and facilitate activities at the complex. They will focus on developing sports like competitive swimming, artistic swimming, diving and water polo to help bring regional and national recognition to the facility. Triathlon Laval and the Club de Sauvetage Rive-Nord will also be part of the project, helping provide an even wider range of activities and training opportunities.

The complex is already planning to host several major competitions, including the prestigious Ken Demchuck International Invitational para swimming competition, which will be held in Laval for three consecutive years starting in 2026. This competition, awarded by Swimming Canada, will put Laval on the map as a top sports city, attracting international-calibre athletes.

A growing tourist and economic hub
The upcoming opening of the Laval Aquatic Complex presents a unique opportunity to boost the city’s appeal, drawing in tourists and fostering economic growth. As the only facility of its size on Montreal’s North Shore, the complex will be a hub for sports clubs, families and water sports enthusiasts.

High-level competitions will draw visitors from all over Quebec and beyond, bringing a surge of business to local hotels, restaurants and shops. By creating this unique and accessible attraction, Laval will solidify its reputation as a vibrant city, ready to welcome new visitors and fuel local economic growth.

A positive impact on residents
The Laval Aquatic Complex is more than just a venue for sporting events; it is an asset for the community. The city has made a concerted effort to offer diverse activities suitable for families, youth, seniors and athletes of all levels. The complex will offer many activities, including free swim days, swimming lessons, aqua fitness classes and lifesaving courses. With the opening of this facility, the number of outdoor pools in Laval will double.

The integration of modern equipment in this facility is part of a broader strategy to revitalize Laval’s aquatic infrastructure. Alongside this complex, several neighbourhood pools have been renovated or are in the process of being renovated to ensure residents have access to high-quality facilities for leisure, training and competition. This approach aims to strengthen the city’s independence and appeal.

A responsible and accessible project
The new Laval Aquatic Complex is strategically located in the heart of Laval, close to major highways and opposite Le Carrefour bus terminal, making it easily accessible by public transit, car and active transportation. With multiple parking and transportation options available, all residents will be able to enjoy the new facility.

Additionally, public art will be integrated inside and outside the complex to add a cultural dimension to the space, creating an inspiring, enjoyable environment. The expansive, lush forecourt also showcases Laval’s dedication to environmental sustainability. This green oasis, designed to reduce the heat island effect, is an ideal space for residents to relax and connect.

A major asset for future generations
The Laval Aquatic Complex is more than modern infrastructure, it is an investment in Laval’s future. It is a place where residents can thrive and sporting talent can be nurtured and celebrated. By making physical activity accessible and enjoyable, the city is fostering healthy lifestyle habits that benefit the entire community's physical and mental well-being.

As the opening date approaches, excitement is building. Thanks to this project, Laval is transforming into a modern, inclusive and forward-looking city where everyone can thrive and contribute to a stronger, more united community.

In conclusion, the opening of the Laval Aquatic Complex is much more than an addition to the city’s infrastructure; it is a true gift for current and future generations. This facility will stand as a vibrant cornerstone of Laval’s landscape.
